Bio

Joohan Song is an experienced attorney with about 20 years of trial and legal experience. He graduated cum laude at the University of California, Los Angeles and received his J.D. from Loyola Law School.

Joohan is a passionate advocate who has dedicated his life to help innocent people clear their names and people who have been injured move forward with their lives. He works tirelessly and tenaciously to ensure that constitutional and legal rights are adhered to and that all people are given the same opportunity to defend themselves. While in high school, Joohan interned at the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and observed firsthand how lawyers have tremendous responsibility to do good and assist underprivileged people. His legal fire was lit.

At Loyola Law School, where he was a research assistant for Professor Mary Dant and Professor David Leonard, Joohan was drawn to criminal defense as it addressed his core values of helping others in need and fighting for the disadvantaged. After externing for Judge Thomas Donovan and Judge Aurelio Munoz, Joohan passed the California State Bar in 2004. This led to his first full-time job as an associate for Mia Yamamoto, a highly esteemed criminal defense attorney in Los Angeles.

From there, Joohan further honed his skills when he became a deputy public defender for Los Angeles County in 2005, where he was able to provide his tenacious legal support to people most in need of a fair trial. Joohan opened the Law Offices of Joohan Song in 2013 to focus on criminal defense, personal injury, and civil rights.

Shaped by his Southern California roots of determination and hard work, Joohan is actively involved in giving back to the community that he loves and has volunteered with various local organizations.

Joohan is licensed to practice in the State of California and the United States District Court, Central District of California. He lives in Los Angeles County with his wife and sons.
